The Hierophant - V

   

    V. High Priest/ Hierophant – (world of knowledge, sphere: spiritual guidance)

the main qualities connected with this card are: holiness, religious study, spiritual power, knowledge, respect, wisdom. It represents religious leader – guru, rabbi, any spiritual teacher. High priest corresponds to earth element, zodiac sign Taurus. He is the power of religion in the earthly life, the one that is revealed in institutions –churches, synagogue, temples. As part from the Fools (Dreamer) journey in life, High Priest represents the “existential fear” – the question Why I m here, what is purpose of my life? Another fear is fear to “lose” what he has.

-         Balance between conscious and subconscious mind
-         Need to adapt or conform in the existing situation
-         You need to be involved in some religious traditions and rituals
-         You will have desire to manifest things using rituals, ceremonies or by attending religious place (church)
-         You will have to deal with power of institutions, someone ruling
-         Follow a program, organization or social rules in this situation
-         Period of education, learning, exams, or general knowledge
-         You will receive advice and wisdom from your spiritual teacher/ leader in a church

-     It can symbolize marriage/ or other social traditional occasion, depending on other cards 

Spiritual message: I`m filled with spiritual knowledge and wisdom as I follow my (inner) guide. 
Hierophant is usually depicted as a man on religious power with high authority. In classical versions of Tarot he has symbols of wheel, religion symbols, crossed keys, and red mantel. He represents balance between conscious and sub-conscious mind, adaption and learning new religious principles, or entering place of religious community (church, temple, sinagogue). He has high social status and is renounced.
