XII. Hanged man card – (world of Surrender, sphere: sacrifice)

Card meanings: restrictions, letting go, suspension, sacrifice. Hanged man means ultimate surrender by your own will. He man although hanged on a tree upside-down, is not feeling upset. He gained his spiritual knowledge and higher attainment, shown in the yellow halo around his head. He looks peaceful even in this position. Ruling planet: Neptune. The hanged man is sacrificing his comfort (in present moment) in order to achieve higher spiritual knowledge and growth (in the future). He looks helpless by position, but not by mind.

Various meanings:    

                                                   

-         To suspend actions in this period, waiting in stillness

-         Postpone the important decisions for later times, patience

-         Don’t act in this situation and wait to see obvious solutions to appear

-         You feel restricted in your life path, you have tied hands

-         You are in a period of waiting and contemplation, meditation

-         Accept, surrender, let go of your emotional burdens

-         See the world and yourself from different perspective

-         You can consider losing something little, in order to achieve your higher goal

-         You need time-out to think about deeper meaning of this situation.

-         Spiritual message: seeker needs to find courage to let go and surrender the lower material desires. He needs to have faith in nature forces, God and his Higher Self. He is enlightened.

There is symbol of resurrection – after the sacrifice person will gain higher spiritual levels. Spiritual quality: patience, contemplation
