Five of Cups

Mostly number five represents a hard lesson to learn, obstacle, challenge in physical and spiritual space. We need to overcome this challenge ir order to grow stronger. All the 5 s – in suits therefore have the energy of struggle, fight, or loss, sadness, emotional and physical pain.

The major Arcana equivalent of 5 is the Hierophant – spiritual teacher, who has come to a certain soul level, has spiritual authority and higher level of initiation.

This is the card of disappointment, regret about something in the past. It is feeling of loss, resentment, hard times, depression. All other suits also depict similar emotional status – feeling down, depression, you don’t aim to see hope and positive side of your situation. Your point of view is quite pessimistic on life, you have strong inner conflicts, shaken values, you struggle to let go of the past or of material/ emotional loss you had. You may experience self-blame and self-pity, but you need to forgive and let go of past. Then all things will shine again in your life.

The spiritual question of 5 Cups is: what important lessons you can gain from that experience?

Don’t focus your attention only on the negative side and inwards. Try to see the hope. Time for recovery, solitude. Need to gain strength.
