About Envy -III

...If a person has very few things – and mainly in spiritual world – he can be also subjected to much envy. This case is well spread. Why? If the person for example is connecting with spiritual realm, angels, guides, he receives messages from them and has determination to go in this direction, but he is not famous and don’t have many things which normal people would label as “happiness”. he doesn’t have family, wife, children, “lover”, he has very few friends, very little social achievements, and no job, and few material possessions. (think about Jesus too) But still he is subjected to “bad eye” of envy. The reason lies in one –his attitude, or the way he looks and accepts his own fate (life).

He can lack many things, and family, beloved, but he has all he ever wanted –peace of mind, tranquility, calmness he is on the right way. He possesses the best gift ever – realization of divine sparkle in his heart. He is content and smiling to the life – no matter of the obstacles or “gaps”.
Now people look to him saying inside them – “see this man! How he can be smiling and happy, if he is in such miserable situation? How could that be! He is magician and possess magical power to be content!” so there is envy for the quality of “inner peace” which also appears on surface (for lower mind people) as life without struggle. You can see –here what glitters is real gold. But not everyone would be able to see.

In another side – a woman who has all she wants from her life (or all what can be labeled as “happiness”) is extremely unhappy and depressed. Why? She has a house, she has amazing family, husband, sweet children, money, ability to travel, supportive family, work, achievements…Is that not just great? Could be, but…sadly she lacks important thing, that she actually needs – inner peace, tranquility, love for herself, joy from simple things. She wont be ever satisfied – she is empty. Without these qualities, she realizes, she wont achieve happiness.
She wants to make more, she tries hard to connect with spiritual world, make some “easy steps” but in vein. Because her final aim is not desire from the heart –but just the “next possible material achievements and privileges” after she has spiritual connections. So she simply wont be allowed to enter in this place with unclean intentions and without pure heart. That woman who has “everything” in material, would envy the first described man, who has “nothing”. Just because of that simple peace.

IV. what is the color of Envy in the aura?
This feeling depending on the intensity of envy (or how much and how frequently you feel envy), has different colors and shades. Mostly is seen as dark brown, pale red, or mostly color between brown and orange –Ocher. People who envy strongly will have little dusty cloud in aura around their head, (left side) or heart chakra (left side). The colors of envy wont appear as solid colors of the aura, but as moving “clouds” (as all human emotions are changing, developing, disappearing). The cloud means point of weakness in aura.
As I observed many aspects of envy, I can claim it is surely natural feeling for humans (on this level of mind). I wish one day this feeling to be replaced by admiration and passion for achieving more from our higher Self. That’s all for now. Abide in divine Light.

About Envy - II

II. What is the root of envy? From which feeling it came?

As I stated above, envy comes mostly from our need to have something, that we don’t and from our greedy eyes, looking on the surface of what others have. We cant be sure in reality if others are happy or satisfied from what they have. They also can look to someone else with feeling of envy. As the desires of humans are unique, moreover they possess by nature very important traits: 1. to desire often something forbidden, not belonging to them (can be parallel of longing), 2. to have endless desires, that make them need more and more, just after their achievements.
All that natural pattern in psychology of humans come from one root –namely the desire, need for expansion, for accumulation of goods (in spiritual world), and acquiring personal qualities (for spiritual growth).
Now the simple answer of why feeling of envy exists in people becomes clear – as this feeling is natural desire for expansion, which moved its focus from spiritual to material world. That is valid in many of other humans negative feelings. In this way, by existing only in the level of material world, envy cant be called “positive”. Envy is already connected with the bad eye energy, with something that will make people happy, or malicious about failure of another. Yes, there should be another quality to substitute “envy” in positive way – and this can be “passion to achieve”, “determination, challenge, competition”. These qualities don’t have the negative outline of envy.

III. Can we envy for something in spiritual world, or not material good?
This is interesting question to observe. There is not just one answer, but here I`ll try to explain – generally this feeling is connected always to something tangible, visible, material. We can see with our eyes (and so its proven) the beautiful wife, the big rich house, the lovely garden and field, the great abundance, and assume the qualities of our neighbor (the other). In such way we are “sure” of what he possess. If he does not possess house, or wife, or garden, or ox, or anything, how we can know what qualities he possess? Yes, but no.

This is a tricky view. If we are belonging to the lower mind level people – we wont see of course anything to desire (envy) which is out of material world. Most people of course desire exactly goods from visible reality – so they can be satisfied, “happy”. Never mind about glitter and gold”, which can be not real. On another hand, if the person is in higher levels of mind, and in need of spiritual development, of course he will desire, search and need things related to the invisible (spiritual) world. In this case he wont be interested in material possession, and would not have feeling of “envy” for them. But would he feel “envy” at all? And in what case? That`s why I said  - envy is a negative feeling, and the person who is already on path of awakening (or development) is not so likely to have this feeling. What he could have? On this level envy is transformed to feelings of Admiration (from a spiritual person or path), or 2. Disgust (from the material world failures or people). These are the basic emotions he can have, instead of envy. Actually he also can have passion, desire to achieve spiritual qualities, but this desire” will have the significant quality – Purity – that will make it quite far from the black outlines of envy.
To conclude – someone in lower mind levels (primitive) will feel envy mainly for the visible material objects, that can be seen with eyes, or assumed. You can envy also about personal qualities, life achievements, or others. Spiritual qualities are not subjected to envy – but the fame is.
One very good example – spiritual teacher as Buddha or Lao Tzu, are not envied, but admired by their students and followers. Can you envy Buddha for his spiritual achievements? Or Jeshua? I think it` s clear why. But someone else, who is not involved or “touched” by the essence of spiritual teaching of Buddha (or Lao Tzu), can have feeling of envy to them – only due to their Fame and outer image for all humanity. In this case the desire state or subject is “fame” and not “spiritual teaching”, not wisdom, not meditations. Just a state of material.  Now can you envy Buddha?
Another prove this is truth, lies in the following – if Buddha was amazing spiritual teacher, but he was just unknown to the humanity, except very little group of people, would you envy him? Or would you admire him?

These are my personal examples, you can think of many more. I would like to add one situation from my experience.

About Envy - I

This series of articles I dedicate to special negative feelings in human nature – like envy, lust, egoism, gluttony, aggression, addiction, possessiveness, jealousy. All of them have one very good point to reside in human emotions and heart – and it is to serve as lessons and be overcame. We all have need and obligation to fight with this feelings, in order to achieve expansion of mind. They are special stones on the way, that can be turned in big rocks, or little stones, or even serve as springboard on the way to success.
( reading pages total -10)

I`ll speak about envy. What we call envy? What are the basic other qualities that surround the feeling of envy? What is the root of it? (from which feelings envy is brought to life?) Can envy be a “positive” feeling? What is the color in aura of feeling envy? Is it too natural for humans?
Lets begin by answering these questions.

I. Envy is a feeling residing in human society since ancient times. It comes naturally from the people living in groups, and being able to make comparison between each other. As people never are equal since they are born, between them always is space for challenge, comparison, competition. That is connected with all areas of life – as each individual has different fate, abilities, positive and negative sides, qualities and finally achievements. All that good and positive qualities are subjected to the feeling of envy. Of course we do not envy for something negative or bad in another human. The energy of envy (or also called a “bad eye” energy) is directed to something in another person, which we don’t possess, which we are missing and we want to have. Moreover envy is a hard feeling – not just outline. Envy does not have positive side, but make us think what we really want to achieve, if we are mindful enough.

Envy comes naturally with the humans living within social groups, family and institutions. Now I`ll observe the fundamental statements from the Bible, directed to envy in commandments of God of Moses: [ Deuteronomy 5:21 ]
[ “ do not covet your neighbor` s wife; do not covet your neighbor` s house, his field, his male or female slave, his ox, his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor.” ] [ Complete Jewish Bible ]

      From these so simple and powerful for the ancient people commandments, we see the exact nature of envy. This example covers in first sight just the material goods, that can be subjected to desire of humans eyes. If we want to translate these simple teachings from God on moral values to symbolic language of modern times, we can say: 1. the first obligation, don’t desire the wife that belongs to someone else, and not yours. That has evolved meaning given from Jesus – keep your eyes away (don’t fall in love) for woman who is not your wife. 2. Do not desire the house, property of your someone else (that means to not desire not just to take it away or steal from it, but the meaning is exactly to not envy for that property, as this will send energy of bad eye to your neighbor. 3. his field, his male or female servant 4. his ox, his donkey;
That relates in symbolic language to the higher aspects than it can be read from the surface of the text. The first strophe is linked with the need of love. Don’t desire love, that you cant have, or which is not meant for you. That means also – keep yourself pure for your lover, wife, husband, realize the value of your own love and spouse. 2. The house and property is related to personal achievement and qualities of other person. This is also his private life, what he has in his home, that we cant see. These are qualities he has and are hidden sometimes from us. That refers to understand and value your own personal achievements, to look to your house, take care of it, and turn attention to your own personal qualities. 3. “His field, his male and female slave” – that can refer symbolically to the social life of the person and people who support him. Field is easily seen from everyone, as it is in open area, the same as female and male servants – who are the benevolent supporters, friends of the person. The bigger is his field (his social life and status), the more servants he will need (friends, people of support). 4. “his ox, his donkey” – an interesting aspect, as the animals of the neighbor are the authority and power he has. No one can succeed in ancient times to be rich without such domestic animals. Ox were signs of strength, fertility, male power, potency, prosperity, abundance. In this time this is highly important animal, that was sacrificed for Jewish God (YHWH) or worshiped in form of aspect of God power. By desiring the ox of other person, we need his qualities of power, strength, prosperity.

Donkey was amazing ancient symbol of  devotion to work, willpower, determination, caution. Donkey, opposite of what is thought by mass culture in later time, is quite intelligent animal. The envy to these animals symbolizes the need to take the same powers and qualities of our “neighbor” or anyone.

I. Following that examples, we can clarify what is envy: feeling of desire, need to possess certain material goods, qualities, objects or people, that belong to another person, by looking at them on the surface. We need to acquire the same things or objects for ourselves (or in some ways to steal) them from the person to whom they belong. This is my understanding about envy, and the consequences it has for individual. If we observe last part of the first sentence – “by looking at them on the surface” we will go deeper in the meaning of envy. Its important to underline –what we see, is not always what is truth. (not all that glitters is gold). This aspect of “desired gold” that is turned to “dust” is important for understanding of envy. The essence of this feeling lies in eyes, that look to another in the way of greed. That greed comes mostly from the dissatisfaction of our position (material goods, qualities, achievements) in our life.
